Isak spent 20 mins yesterday walking around with the vacuumn cannister on his face. I think he liked it because it made everything look green. He has also learned how to turn on the light switch in his room. I think he jumps up to hit it and this has made nap time rather challenging. I'm hoping the novelty will wear off and he will stop because he still needs a nap (and so do I).

Isak obsessed with popsicles or "ice" as he likes to call them. I give him the ones that are all fruit so they aren't so terrible but he demands them a few times everyday. I tried my own popsicle recipe out this morning with blended strawberries and banans so we'll see how it turns out.

Lucy is getting bigger and bigger and growing way too fast. She has started sleeping fairly well during the night so hopefully that will last. She's really good at grabbing things and putting them in her mouth so we have to be careful what is lying by her. I had a tithing slip by her carseat on the way home on Sunday and when I went to get her out, she had half of it in her mouth eating it. I'm in no hurry to start rice cereal with her yet as I did that with Isak right at 4 months and he grew ginormous very quickly.

I Love how both my kids got Kevin's blue eyes. Aren't they pretty?

'Da hooole mama, Da hoole"

Lucy playing with her toes, he new favorite activity
Funny story about Isak:
I was nursing Lucy yesterday afternoon and Isak was playing with a small pink bouncy ball that I'm pretty sure he stole from the neighbor girls. Anyway, he was bouncing it around and disappeared for a while. All the sudden he comes running up to me talking a mile a minute:

"Da hoole mama Da hoole! Da ball Mama Da ball! Bye Bye! Da hoole! "

Now Isak is notorious for putting things down our air vents..things like vomit, our toilet paper dispenser and who know what else that we will never find. He was using every word in his little vocabularly to tell me what happened. Since he was so distraught, I followed him and sure enough, he had thrown the ball down the air vent. And dispite my best efforts, it was not retrievable. He was very upset at this and kept pointing to vent repeating himself, "Da ball, Da ball, bye bye, Mama". I'm hoping he learned a good lesson but guessing this will happen again.

My computer is finally up and working thanks to a new hard drive so hopefully we won't have any more problems. This means that now all my pictures wil be upright and easy to look at which I am pretty excited about.

Lucy has just discovered her feet and loves to grab them and play with them. She is very chatty and will lay and talk to her fish for any length of time. This is a little video of her from a few weeks ago chatting. I realize this is only interesting to a handful of people so I won't be offended if you skip it..

Checkups and Weigh In's

We took Lucy and Isak in to the doctor today for their 4 month and 2 year check ups. I took Kevin with me as they both needed shots and I wasn't about to brave that by myself with two kids. They did great and are both growing like weeds. I am so thankful for two healthy kids! They both have little colds but hopefully those will go away soon. Here are the stats:
LUCY
Height: 261/2 inches (97%)
Weight: 13lbs 14 oz (50%)
Head: 41 1/2 cms
ISAK
Height: 35 1/2 inches (75%)
Weight: 32 lbs (85%)
Head:52 cms (100%)

So Lucy is really tall and Isak has a mammoth head. Nothing we didn't already know, I guess.
I love that her hair is long enough for barettes. It makes getting her dressed all the more fun.

For home evening the other night I had Isak help me make cookies. This was a first and mostly he sat next to the kitchen aid and watched it mix the cookie dough. But he was fascinated.

We have pigtails!

I put Lucy's hair in pigtails today for the first time. I just need to find matching bows. Unfortunately this computer is awful and mine still isn't fixed so they are all loading sideways..grrr...They are much cuter when looked at head on rather than tilting your head.

I tried to brush her hair down today but it just springs back up. Reminds me of a bald man with a bad comb over.

Nathan and Stephanie stopped by on their way through to washington on Wednesday night. Lucy and Conner liked laying next to each and babbling. I love his fuzzy little hair.

Tummy time. I have no pictures of Isak in this post but he's doing fine. He just doesn't have pigtails. Although he did want me to do paint his nails on Sunday before church so we matched. And I put him in sandals, much to Kevin's dismay.

Past week

Kevin's sister, Whitney, came to my rescue on Tuesday while Kevin was out of town in South Dakota for an audit training. She helped me with my kids for a few days and made the time fly by so much faster. Plus I had another adult to talk to which was an added plus. She took these great pictures of my kids. Aren't they cute?

Lucy is a super smiley baby. I've mentioned this before but it always baffles me as Isak would glare at everyone and it took him a lot longer to warm up to people. She will smile at people at the store all the time and at church at random. I don't know what to do with that hair. It just sticks up straight and there is no taming it. Thanks Crystal for all the super cute hairbands to play with!
Isak likes to see her smile and just today decided he wanted to hold her in Kevin's lap. Its fun watching them start to interact.
