Easter Pictures

I love dressing my kids in adorable matching outfits. It's really one  of the best parts of having two boys and two girls.  I found the girls' dresses  at Costco and then found their cute hats at Target.  I got Isak and Quinn's vests online with the matching ties.  Quinn wasn't too happy about the pictures.

Edyn only left her hat on till we got to church then off it came.

Happy Birthday Quinn!

Our little Quinn baby turned one yesterday! He's been walking since 10 months, has never crawled, and loves to eat just about everything. He wore his birthday suit for the occasion..

Quinn had some great assistance from Edyn in figuring out his new toys.
Quinn got some spaghetti before his party, one of his favorites, and gobbled it right up.

Quinn's favorite person in all the world is my dad. I seriously think he likes him more than Kevin or I.  My dad retired a year ago and has come up at least once a week since then to spend the day with us and Quinn has gotten very attached to him.  But who wouldn't love the guy who gives who whatever you want and takes you outside all day everyday?!
Quinn got some trucks, a little toy kitchen, a play keyboard, and some other toys.
He also didn't want anything to do with his cake which is weird.  My first baby to refuse their cake! He did like the frosting but didn't want anything to do with it after a few seconds. And this is my 4th first birthday cake picture in this highchair.  It's probably time for a new one!
Quinn is the sweetest, most good natured baby.  He has finally started sleeping at night and is pretty happy most of the time and easily entertained by his siblings.  He loves to be outside and loves anything with wheels or that he can throw or hit stuff with.  He is definitely a boy through and through.  He takes two naps a day and will self feed a lot of food but still likes baby food and his bottles before sleeping.  He weighs just over 24lbs and his head is well over the 100th percentile.  He is almost identical in size to Isak at this age.  Happy birthday sweet boy!

Quinn is turning one soon and I just love little boys in overalls with their chubby wrists and feet.  It's been so warm lately and this little boy is growing so fast!

Happy 6th Birthday Lucy!

My sweet Lucy turned 6 a few days ago and she has been SO EXCITED for her birthday now for months.  She's been telling the poor primary chorister at church for the past 5 months that her birthday is coming soon and is almost here.  She wanted a Barbie birthday so I attempted a Barbie cake.

Per tradition we played heavy heavy hangover with all her presents. Isak was happy to oblige.
Lucy saw this My Little Pony bathrobe months ago and and was thrilled to get for a present. She immediately had to put it on, of course.

Lucy's friend birthday was on her actual birthday after school and everyone got a Barbie crown and colored Barbie coloring sheets as guests arrived.
Lucy wore her birthday crown from school that day and I brought cupcakes earlier to her classroom with of course, Barbie rings in each one.
Then we played pin the sunglasses on Barbie. I loved the Mask the game had for the kids to wear, especially when Isak decided to give it a try....
Of course we also had to go on a treasure hunt for the treat bags, which ended up being under the trampoline. Then we went outside and played smack the pinata for candy.
Lucy got several My Little Ponies, water toys, play dress up stuff, candy, and games.  She had so much fun and enjoyed decorating for the party as much as she enjoyed having it.
Below is my little Lucy the night before her 6th birthday, with her nails done and hair in curls in preparation for the big day.  Oh how we love this sweet little girl! Lucy is a special kid. She is friendly and kind and always thanking me for doing the littlest things for her and giving out compliments to others left and right.  She loves Fancy Nancy books, anything My Little Pony, pink and purple and fluffy dresses, rainbows, unicorns and she loves to draw and write cards and notes.  She enjoys Kindergarten and making new friends and is one of the most positive and upbeat people I know.  She was my easiest baby and her easy going personality is such a great addition to our family. We love our Lucy!!

Halloween!

This year for Halloween I put in as little effort as possible, as usual.  I am definitely not that mother that stays up till all hours of the night sewing Halloween costumes. I AM that mother who scrounges yard sales and clearance racks for cheap costumes, however, which is why I told my kids to go pick out of our large array of get ups.  Luckily, my children are fairly still easy to please.  Quinn was a skunk, which every child of mine has been as a baby. Love this costume. Edyn was a chicken and made awesome screaming chicken noises "bwack, bwack!!"  Lucy wore her Ariel dress and wig that she received for her birthday this year and completed the ensemble with her choice of bows for her hair.  Isak really wanted to be Minecraft Steve (thank-you half off Wal-Mart clearance) and we just made his pick axe diamond sword. Which in the picture is of course backwards so you can't even see it.

Our trunk or treat at the church was Halloween night as well so we started there and then perused some nearby streets.

Oh and Kevin and I decided on Halloween we should dress up as well, haha, for the first time ever.  I donned Isak's batman mask and cat tail and Kevin wore his dryasabone and the creeper face.  We are definitely not coordinated but we had fun!  Please notice Edyn's mismatched socks and Quinn's feet hanging out in this picture.
Of course within 20 minutes Isak realized he could hardly see with the box on his head and it quickly became his trick or treat bucket instead. Lucy also ripped off her wig and just wore her dress.  All in all, the three of them did great going door to door and even Edyn had a pretty good handle on what to do and what to say.
And don't worry, I've already found Wal-Mart's 75% off costumes for next year! Hahaha.

Playing with Quinn

Isak and Lucy made Quinn a baby boat out of the laundry basket and stuck him in it. They thought it was so funny and Quinners didn't mind too much either.  Isak loves to carry him around the house and play with him and get him out of his crib.  It is so nice having a child old enough to be of some serious help with it comes to baby number four.

After Halloween every year, the kids always request that I make their pumpkins "throw up". They think it is hilarious.  So this year we tried red wine and rice vinegar as well as white along with food coloring and baking soda.  The red actually made the best reaction.  It smelled horrible, the kids thought it was awesome.
